So far in our Monday night Acting Class for Adults with Additional Needs we have explored story-telling, improvisation and script work, all in a supportive and inclusive environment. We work at the pace of the individuals in the group, encouraging them to make new friends and to gain confidence working together.

We have considered emotions, and how humans respond to given circumstances, to gain a better insight into social situations and their complexities. We have also explored texts, such as the work of Pinter and Shakespeare, which has enabled us to use the skills we have learnt, as well as performing poems, sound scripts and improvised scenes to encourage creativity and openness.

Most importantly, we have been having fun and have been developing the ability to work with others and to gain the confidence to stand up and perform.

We really want to spread the word as the session is much more than just an acting class!

The class runs every Monday 6.00 – 7.00pm at Hessle Town Hall. Carers are welcome to attend and all sessions are led by industry professionals who have previous experience of working in special schools and delivering drama workshops for adults with additional needs.

We offer a FREE trial to all new students and fees work out at £7.00 per week thereafter. Please do get in touch if you think this is the right class for you.
