Welcome
We run classes that introduce children and young people to the world of Stage & Screen. At Northern Lights we have a class for everyone. From beginners looking to build their confidence to those hoping to break into the industry. We celebrate all achievements be that performing in class for the first time to landing your first professional acting job.
In our weekly Acting Classes we explore a range of drama focused exercises that teach children the skills needed to perform in theatre, film and television. We also run a Saturday Stage School for pupils looking to learn more about the industry and take their skills to the next level.
Northern Lights was founded in 2013 with the aim of providing professional and affordable weekly training, plus much needed advice, guidance and support for those pupils that wanted to progress in the industry.
NLD works closely with NLD Management; the region’s only Spotlight approved acting agency meaning pupils have the opportunity to audition for major roles in film, tv and theatre.

For Everyone
We do not restrict entry through audition as we see our role as developing everyone, irrespective of whether they wish to pursue a professional career or not; our training can help develop a young person’s confidence and interpersonal skills in addition to performing ability.

Those who progress towards professional work in theatre, film and television will be prepared for auditions and a career within the industry. Our classes are designed to aid and develop self esteem and the life skills needed to enable pupils to realise their full potential, at whatever age.
