LIGHTS, CAMERA…ACTION! Our signature 1.5-hour weekly class that introduces children to the world of STAGE & SCREEN. Split into 3 terms, we focus on ‘STAGE’ (all things theatrical, acting technique, character work, improv, devising, script work), ‘SCREEN’ (the world of Film & TV, a huge selection of real scripts, life on set, the roles of cast and crew, self-taping, filming and screenings) and a PERFORMANCE term putting everything we’ve learnt into practice! An exceptional weekly class for budding young performers of all abilities.

A 3-hour weekly session for young performers looking to learn more about the industry and take their skills to the next level. Each week pupils work in age appropriate groups taking part in focused ACTING (strong focus on film & TV), SINGING (voice, acting through song & voiceover work) and DANCE (dynamic choreography & routines from hit musicals) on rotation. PLUS special guest visits from Industry Professionals (Casting Directors, Film & TV cast & crew, West End performers) to give pupils a real insight into all areas the industry.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding organisations. Northern Lights Drama is proud to be a private LAMDA Examination centre meaning we can offer LAMDA Acting syllabus tuition (Entry Level – Gold Medal) and hold examinations at our premises in Hessle. Northern Lights Drama has a solid track record of pupils achieving OUTSTANDING RESULTS in LAMDA Examinations with 90% of pupils achieving a Distinction in our most recent set of results.

We offer holiday workshop days during half-term and Easter breaks and a week long Summer School each year. Our workshops are available for 4 – 18 years and always sell out so early booking is advised! Our workshops are a brilliant way to experience what Northern Lights Drama is all about!

NLD is now a Spotlight registered agency meaning we can provide a platform to submit our pupils for exclusive castings and opportunities to be seen by the UK’s top casting directors. The agency offers representation, support and guidance for emerging young actors 4 – 25 years.
